Mummy Power!

Yes... I agree with u guys that i should really update my blog... especially so as some many pairs of eyes are following mine to catch up with baby ethel's growth.. hee *yes, its proud mummy me going on n on again....*

ethel's 4.5 months oredi... yup, ive got new pics to show, pics that ive long wanted to publish but havent *lazy me*

Have started working for a full 2 weeks le, been working really hard (I think...), n late, there are even a few nites that I had stayed in the office till about 9... but the returns are fruitful. Coming back to the corporate world after being in the civil service (so shelthered...) is a totally different kind of experience. working in this office, although not a big corporation, has its own set of challenges. But it is definitely more interesting than being in the service. I feel that it is as though some people in there are bickering over the smallest of things. here, it is very straight-forward. Very definite and defined. It's very fast-paced and really need to be on the task.

Managed to clinch 2 deals in less than 2 weeks... feel so proud of myself... keke... nothing to boost about (really....) cos i was in this profession before, so it is like re-learning & refreshing new and old skill sets...
can adjust to this easily. basically it is still a sales-based job, a lot of talking involved. lots of PR, buidling relationships, then its talk n talk n talk.... (It's like being paid to talk...)
Colleages are nice... majority are newbies in the profession... mostly pretty young... most of the time, office is quite fun...

Am still in the office, so i cant post baby ethel's pics... will do it tml... (hmmm... i willl try...)

The Princess Diary -- Ethel at 3.5 months!

Btw, if u r wondering why I've changed the blog skin to a default one.... I guess it is just for the sense of peacefulness and serenity. Have juz taken a good look at my old blog skin and find it kind of unsoothing. Not pleasant at all. Have to admit that it is cute and all, but it is not quite me. So, while im getting the new blog skin, this will do just fine.... :)

Been seeing Ethel a lot these past few days, had made it a point to drop by my mum's for lunch, dinner, whatevers, juz to see her. Gonna bring her back home tonite! Yeah!

She's growing up. She can now sit in her little yellow seat without having us to support her neck. Used to put her little pillow behind her neck, but now she can hold her neck up on her own....

It's so wonderful to she her day-by-day progress of growing up. It's even more fantastic when she holds your finger really tightly or simply lies against me and fell asleep....

I used to think much lesser when others pass off comments of how wonderful it is to be a mum, and whatever pride and joy thingy.... but being a mummy myself has changed all that... especially now. Baby Ethel is my pride and joy! She is the joy and laughter of her grandparents who are constantly carrying her, playing with her, buying clothes for her.

A fine example will be my dad, Ethel's grandpa, who has started buying clothes for her (hmmm... i veri seriously dun remember him buying clothes for me n my sis... toys yes, but clothes no...), n definitely never 3 in one go!

She is indeed loved by all....

This pix actually make her look kinda like a boy... haha... but we still think she looks really adorable! Love her to bits!

We all agree that she is kinda losing the 'Ethel' look. Ethel is a noble name, and she had initially in this first month, kinda have the noble, princess kind of look. Now she carries of her Chinese name 'JiaXuan' off much better.....

My sis describes this as the'you yu' (troubled) look... but i do think she is pretty contented drinking, sleeping, watching tv and playing everyday....

Wow... time seems to juz breeze thur juz like tat...

Need time to reflect wat ive been doing. Was looking for a job and going for interviews later, went to 3 companies in all. 1 of them was great, but i guess my expected salary wasnt too ideal for them.. they are looking for a dip holder actually... going for the last round of interview on mon for an international consulting firm so im crossing my fingers... *im dying to go in there... it will really really look good for my portfolio* waitin for another to come back for the last round of interview too (although im not too keen on that, but in case the 1st one dun want me....) well, have to say that everything was pretty smooth, even went thru 2 or 3 rounds interview at one shot... got so tired that i ko n usually sleep a straight min 12hrs the next day.

hmmm.... really wonder i will tahan going back to work, having bum around for so long.. haha

been playing lots of pool lately too.... think i improve by quite a lot (even my hubby who is usually quite stingy with his compliments on my skills commented a few times.. hee), even managed to bring 2 frames (to-date... think was last week n last nite) home when i played with the guys... wow... sense of achievement leh... now its more than juz potting the ball in, but also placing for the next ball. (have started playing 9-ball with them...)

hubby bought a new cue for himself... cost abt 300+... have to brush up on my skills so tat i can buy a new cue too (more justifiable mah... hee), my current graphite cue although still doing fine but i think the shaft a bit cranky...

*nonsense... i juz want a new cue... hubby has 1 too* haha...

started playing xbox too... with hubby... race car n x-men... not veri into cars but into x-men, its a rpg game, played 2-player... juz like diablo, so i used the storm character... juz stand far far n display power only... hubby say he dun enjoy playing with me cos i usually stand far from enemy, then obstruct his character's view... (but still, he alwaz jio me to play... *hmm... guess im not tat bad a company*... haha) he completed the game yesterday while i was sleeping... sigh...

brought ethel back home yesterday (yes, finally...) after leaving her in my mum's care for the whole of last week. my MIL was asking us again and again when we bringin her back. wanted to focus on my interview and get enough undisrupted rest last week, so didnt bring ethel home. had missed her badly, had actually gone to my mum's place to makan juz to see her in-between interviews juz to see her. anyway, brought her back and my in-laws are all over her. dun blame them la, (although quite irritating at times) but i knoe that they miss their grandchild too...

ethel has grown fatter (again...) but it's alright with us, she looks more chubby, more loveable. *muacks* my sis has taken some really really pretty pix of her.... forgot to transfer the files.. so i will upload them another time... bought a chair thingy for her... she likes to sit up... n that offsets us by another $99! baby's stuffs can be really ex at times.. had spent quite a little fortune on her actually. but no choice, she is my one and only bao bei....

Happy New Year!

Havent blog in a long long time! Happy CNY! This is still only the 5th day....

Been so busy the past 3 weeks that i simply dun have the energy to blog... or rather, ive been lazier? Many things happened... my sis broke up with her bf, me n hub revamped our bedroom, ie change carpet, throw again bags n bags of stuffs, redeco... hubby wanted to recreate the banyan tree effect... haha... the end result aint too bad, n with the scent thingy... definitely a nice n cosy place to snuggle... sleep n watch CSI Season 4.

n not to mention that my FIL got us to go queue up for bah kua, the lim chee yuan one, for almost 6 hrs on the sat b4 cny. can you believe it? but it was fun la, in a way, me n hub take turns to go jalan initially, but in the end, we both got so tired, n hot! shopped for clothes too... ended up buying many many more pieces of designer baby wear.. haha, for my precious baby. ive started to hate buying clothes for myself... so hard to find stuffs i like, cos ive gotten so fat after giving birth, n im only shrinking so minimally! disgusting! made a resolution to go on diet (hmmm... after i finish eating all the ny goodies, perhaps?)

this is my first year not getting any angbaos n had to give out lots! Quite scary sia, cos des' family is quite big, n u will see so so so many kids swarming the place... n i end up trying to remember which kids ive given to, n make it a point to at a corner of the living room so that new kids that come will definitely pass me n i can give them a ang bao! Hope i didnt leave any kids out! And the most scary part is to wonder if this fella is married or not. des has a nephew who is younger but married, but so older ones are not! Safe thing to do, is to follow my MIL, she gives i give. ethel recieves i keep. haha. prepared $900 for angbao money... 2/3 gone already, will be doing more visiting this weekend... really wonder how much deficit it will be... a rough calculation at this moment is about 200+... hope it dun slide further....

Promised my sis that i will put up some pix of her, she has started to learn how to play pool, n she has joined us a couple of times... not too bad for a beginner actually.... hopefully she'll join us more, it's a game that only practice will make perfect... me n hub plays put 2, 3 or even 4 times a week... if we dun have to take care of baby ethel... otherwise we can only play once a week... anyone interested? join us anytime, my hubby is a pool fanatic!

hmmm.... forgot to mention that we went chinatown shopping too.... ate hotdogs...

want to post some pix of ethel in her nice ny clothes but she simply refused to be photographed. think she's getting a bit dao.... nah.. actually she's quite drained from all the visitations... she has been sleeping n sleeping since tues nite... recovering her energy.... then she can start disturbing her mummy n daddy again. though now she's having fun at her granny's! haha

On a day off...

Been around reading other people's blog, and wished that i could write abt similar stuffs that had happened to me... like abt MIL and all, but knowing that my hubby would read and probably no be too great abt it... ive decided not too... although there are many a time that could juz sit in front of the com n type off n go da da da.... so at times when i want to write, i juz dont do it and go read on my frens blogs instead.. haha

my baby's at my mummy's so today's off day for me n hub. actually, its since yesterday, taking care of her juz zapped up so much of our energy... ethel probably loves my mummy more than she loves us :( sigh... she bullys us a lot, and demands attention and needs to be entertained constantly! But she's a perfect angel with my mum! Not trying to complain, but it is exhausting. Really marvel at how my mum manages her, and manages the usual chores at the same time. Fantastic.

Went to eat buffet, shopping and played pool with the usual guys yesterday. then got so exhausted that we came home and knocked out a straight 12-hrs till afternoon. What a breather! Havent felt so relaxed for almost a week, 5 days actually. Ethel was easy to manage when we got her back from my mum's last weekend... but then.... da da da... sigh...

Nonetheless... shall share some nice pix again...

The Princess Diary -- Ethel @ 2 months

Yippee yippee....

My precious little one is exactly 2 months old!

Daddy and Mummy call her Ethel, the grandparents call her Jiaxuan, born at Mount Alvernia Hospital exactly 2 months ago, on 08th November 05 at 3am.

This pix was taken when she is a week old, when she juz came home from the hospital.

Notice the little bandage on her left hand? It's due to the fact that she has to be placed on the drip, cos she was small at birth, and she had to be go through some tests, but being strong and fierce, she passed all the tests and can go home after a week!

Was really sad when i look at her back in the hospital, it really hurts badly looking at the little marks on her feet after the blood tests... sobz.

Well... she's now getting fatter n fatter! She is a stubborn little one, i guess she definitely takes after her daddy a lot!

This is Ethel when she is a month old, more chubby and smiling a lot. She is a joy and she spreads her love around both families. She is one full of expressions, and she displays all her feelings with her facial expressions. Aint she a cute little one?

She is 2 months old today.... she can look at you in the eyes and smile really sweetly at you, and she has juz started to chuckle (and so her ah yi says...), she starts to recognise people around her, especially my mum, who takes care of her most of the time, mostly the weekdays. She goes "nrgh..." when she poos... she responses to mozart, and she smile when u call her name...

I really really like this picture of Ethel and Alvin. Looks lovely, and its kind of adoring, I really like the way uncle alvin and the baby niece ethel look at each other. So engaging. So sweet.

Fun @ Aloha Loyang

Slept a straight 14 hours yesterday. Was dog tired.

Cos was at chalet with hubby, sis n alvin. Was at Aloha Loyang.
Went shopping for food n stuffs at carrefour. That was enjoyable, bought marinated beef, lots of chicken wings, prawns, sotong balls, da da da.. n of cos my favourite bacon, not forgetting red wine...
By the time we drove there it was almost 5pm. Checked in and was told that there was an aircon meter to monitor out usage. Anything more than 25 units is chargeable. Der....

Hubby Fat was starving (so was Alvin...) so fat went to start the fire going, n kind alvin marinated the food for us. Of cos i helped a little here n there.... n huimei merely did all the poking and wrapping... hahaha...

ended up having my hands smelling of chicken wings with teriyaki sauce... haha... fat's fire almost got out out by the rain, but fortunately it was strong enough.

And the BBQ began after alvin for a dip in the pool n we got back from more shopping from cheers at downtown east. Me n huimei got the first bite as the guys were busy bbq-ing. Not bad... pretty good actually...

Got so tired from eating, n me sneaked in the room to have a good rest. And i heard (from huimei) that the 2 fully grown up men were like monkeys trying to strip each other, admist of banging doors n towels n the such... keke. They did created lots of noise, n tried to put the blame on next door (even noiser) neighbours.

And these fellas decided to go for pool n practically dragged me out of bed (and alvin was jumping on my bed!) so we drove to our usual hang for pool. these 2 guys practically spent the next 1.5hrs drooling at a skimply dressed girl who was bending over so much, showing so much leg, n half drunk. Der...

Went back n bbq some more, got really tired of looking at SO SO SO much food. ended up not finishing lots of it, which eventually got into the tummy of the garbage bin. So wasteful! Whose fault? The guys.... who insisted they can finish 20 chicken wings each! Nah!

alvin had a tummyache so he went to slp, me, fat n sis played da di n drink some more. having finished the red wine during the bbq, we started on our vodak mandarin. not bad... but i kept on losing at da di.. so crappy! was never so so down on my luck before!

anyway... tis was fun, despite having just the 4 of us... heehee....

was quite surprised that the 4 of us actually clicked so well... huimei n alvin being together for not too long... n tat alvin dun really regard me as 'gf's sis' so can play n joke around n have fun. that is good in a way... otherwise, hanging out with them might not be as fun...

looking forward to the next chalet... perhaps aranda country club?
