Birthdays -- An afterthought
My 25th Birthday. Yesterday.
Birthdays are occasions that i drink, drank and get drunk. Had thought that nothing will ever change that, with the clubbing blood that flows through me.
This year is definitely an exception. Had thought too, that i will at least had gone to some cool place to chill out or play pool with my close friends. Or perhaps with my little sista who is into 'drink, drank, drunk' lately. Hmmm.... maybe with her boyfriend too. Well, having just given birth to baby ethel just 1.5 months ago.
But nah, things didnt exactly work out as planned. I spent most of the time taking care of ethel at home. Dreadful... but it didnt turned out to be as bad as i thought. To think about it, it all boils down to the mental state of mind. Changing diapers and making milk and feeding n attending to ethel's cries, giving her all attention and giving up sleep half the day is routine. Birthday or not, a baby is for life. Ethel needs and mummy provides.
The last few hours of the day was spent eating with hubby at coca restaurant (yup, ethel is well taken care of -- courtesy of my in-laws...) , bonus is there is promotion for UOB credit cards ($30 off total bill... worth it!).
Pool. My passion and pastime, with my hubby, Eugene and Albert puts a nice closure to the day.
It aint that bad after all. It is in fact great!
As my hubby says on his birthday 3 days ago: Birthdays are not what you do, but who you spend it with. :)
Hmmm... perhaps i should add that my sweet little sista huimei and her bf, Alvin, bought us an ice cream cake from Swensens as a birthday gift 3 days back. And we ended up gobbling it all up together (with the dry ice effect...). This, is an enjoyment in itself. Great company. Much appreciated. :)
